... a transparent and aggressive schedule leading to a revised consensus plan for the reconstruction of Charles Street from 25th Street to University Parkway by early January 2003.

November 2002

• November 7th => distribution of invitation/work plan letter by Deputy Mayor Laurie Schwartz to Charles Street Reconstruction Stakeholders Committee members.
• November 8th => Website debut (CharlesStreet.mdprojects.com)
• November 14th through November 18th => Listening Tour conducted by David Wallace with each of the 6 Stakeholder Groups.
• November 14th => Comprehensive pedestrian counts taken between 31st Street and University Parkway (7:00 AM to 8:00 PM)
• November 21st => Supplemental traffic counts @ Charles Street/Art Museum Drive and Charles Street/33rd Street intersections.
• November 23rd => Distribution of 1st DRAFT Concept Plan booklet presenting 3 concepts (existing conditions, with median and without median options)

December 2002

• December 2nd through December 6th => follow-up meetings with each of the 6 Stakeholder Groups to review 1st DRAFT Concept Plans.
• December 10th => Supplemental pedestrian counts at 29th Street.
• December 12th => Community Meeting @ University Baptist Church

• Charles Street Reconstruction Stakeholders Committee Meeting @ RK&K on January 3, 2003, receipt of final comments.
• January 7th => presentation of FINAL CONCEPT Plan to "Project Owners", Deputy Mayor Laurie Schwartz and Office of Transportation Director Al Foxx.
